After only 20 days of marketing a takeaway premises in Glossop has been let. Incredibly this unit had been listed with another national agent for over 1 year previously with no tenants found. The premises situated at 29 High Street West in the centre of Glossop will commence an extensive refurbishment work shortly and will be transformed into a Thai Noodle Bar. Banks miss small business lending targets

The five leading UK banks have missed their target for lending to smaller companies by £1.1 billion. The banks blamed the shortfall on fewer firms coming forward for credit and a spokesman for the banks said demand for credit from small companies fell last year and ‘remained weak’.

£74.9 billion the banks lent to small and medium sized businesses last year compares to £66 billion in 2010.

The chairman of the National Federation of Small Businesses describes the failure to hit the target as ‘extremely disappointing’ and added ‘it is even more disappointing given that the targets were set artificially low in the first place’.
